Аннотация:Effects of extraversion, anxiety, achievement motive and time of day on psychomotor performance were investigated. Sixty-six subjects had to respond to visually presented simple stimuli as quickly as possible. Subjects were tested twice, once between 9.00 and 10.00 AM and once between 19.00 and 20.00 PM. High achievers overperformed low achievers and anxious subjects. Introverts performed better in the morning than in the evening, while time of day had no effect on performance of extraverts. High achievers kept good performance throughout the day, while the performance of low achievers declined in the evening. Introverts with high achievement motive had the shortest reaction times in comparison with other groups. Results are discussed in the framework of M. Himphreys and W. Revelle (1984).
