Influence of the chemical nature of siloxanes on the thermodynamic characteristics of sorption of a number of linear and cyclic saturated hydrocarbonsстатья

Аннотация:It was found out that the values of the Henry constant (Kc) of the sorption equilibrium and the heat of sorption (q), determined by gas chromatography, of a number of (linear and cyclic) saturated hydrocarbons on phenylmethylsiloxane HP 5, methylfluoroalkylsiloxane OV 210 and methylsiloxane OV 1 decrease in the following sequence НР 5 > OV 1 > OV 210. Consequently, the energy of the dispersion interactions decreases in the same way. It was shown that significant difference in the structure of molecules – skeleton (adamantine), bicyclic (trans-decalin) and linear (decane) – does not affect the heat of sorption on the siloxanes. At the same time, the Henry constant increase significantly from decane to trans-decaline and then to adamantine; moreover, this effect increases with the rise of the polarity of the sorbent. So, the entropy factor can be dominating in the processes of sorption on siloxanes.
