Аннотация:On the basis of simple physicochemical models, the process of so-called osmotic distillation was analyzed. According to the existing literature data, this process may be used for the separation and concentration of various technological solutions in food and pharmaceutical industries, as well as in biotechnology. In particular, the possible specific performance of osmotic distillation was estimated; the resultant estimates match the experimental data available. Ways of improving these models are discussed.
