Аннотация:Based on an analysis of UBVJHK observations of CH Cygni, it is concluded that variations in the JHK bands may be caused by the intrinsic variability of the cool component and the optical depth of the circumstellar dust envelope. These variations in the JHK bands are not explicitly related to the optical activity of the hot component. Intrinsic variability of the cool component is caused by radial and temperature pulsations in the photosphere. Optical thickness of the dust envelope fluctuated in the range of E-prime (B-V) = 0.0-0.9 m in 1978-1990 while optical depth grew gradually from 1985 through April 1990, fluctuating during this period with an amplitude of Delta E-prime (B-V) = 0.30 m. During 1985-1990, the radiation of the hot component was clearly discernible on a background of emission of the cool component, except when it was observed on about JD 2447200, when its emission almost completely disappeared.
