Аннотация:Higher plant plasma membranes carry two types of binding sites to plant phytotoxin, fusicoccin (FC), differing in affinity. Highly conserved proteins belonging to 14-3-3 superfamily are involved in FC perception. However the
structure of the complete receptor complex is still unclear. The target sizes of sugarbeet FC receptor are estimated as 63 ± 7 kDa and 130 ± 15 kDa for low- and high-affinity species respectively, which were determined from the linear parts of radiation-inactivation curves. The analysis of the complete dose dependencies obtained indicate that the microsomal specimens contain «silent» fusicoccin receptors of 420 ± 90 kDa in amounts comparable with the of active ones. It was shown, that both low-affinity and high-affinity FC receptors are inactivated by hydrolytic enzymes from an apoplastic plasmalemmal surface, and the destruction of integrity of protoplasts results in irreversible conversion of low-affinity binding sites to the high-affinity ones. It is supposed, that the affinity of plasma membrane to fusicoccin may reflect protein interactions within FC binding complex.
