Аннотация:Properties of sulfate acid soils occurring in the Kartesh peninsula are mainly due to their mineral composition and to specific sulfate-acid weathering, which make these soils different from the typical soils of northern taiga. Among the weathering products, hematite predominates and jarosite is present. There is no eluvial-illuvial profile differentiation, the exchange cations composition is peculiar, and sulfur content is high in soils under study.
