Аннотация:The Role of International Sport Competitions in The Region’s Image Formation
as Exemplified by Kazan

The paper dwells upon geo-branding, particularly of the large sports competitions as the positioning
tool for territories. Special emphasis has been given to the factors, influencing the choice of the competition
place and its role in the city development. Kazan is presented as an example of successful international
organizing experience.
