Аннотация:Substantial evidence has accumulated on the correlation between marine carbonate and World Ocean level, which is controlled by global exchange between the main carbon pools: the oceans, the biosphere, and the sediments. This paper provides data that enable one to trace this trend in typical Silurian-Lover Devonian sequences on the western flank of the Urals, which show the imprint of large-scale eustatic changes. The marine carbonate trends reproduce in their general features the corresponding segment of the general planetary curve for the interval 440 to 400 Ma and are also correlated with the late Silurian transgressive maximum on the eustatic curve calculated for the Palenzoic.
