The problems of formation of hydromorphic floodplain soils of the Lower don valley under the influence of anthropogenic erosion are considered. It is shown that the passage of vehicles and excessive grazing contribute to the degradation of natural meadow vegetation until its complete destruction. Soil properties, including the content and composition of humus, deteriorate water-physical properties, with the close occurrence of mineralized groundwater can actively develop the processes of secondary salinization. Conducted field simulations of the effects of human-induced erosion on the properties of the hydromorphic bottomland soils confirms the results obtained.
