Аннотация:Changes in the surface of finely divided platinum electrodeposited on a carbon substrate are studied under potentiostatic conditions in concentrated phosphoric acid (duration of sintering 3 h) at 150 degrees C. The dependence of the sintering degree on E-r passes through a maximum at about 0.3 V, which correlates with the potential dependence of the reversible work required for formation of a unit surface area. The sintering rate is assumed to be determined by selfdiffusion of platinum atoms, migration of vacancies, and surface diffusion of crystallites.
