Аннотация:Changes in monoaminergic (MAergic) brain mechanisms, which are induced by ischemic stroke (IS), are associated with different seizure readiness (SR) at different periods after a stroke. An increase in SR was found 5 days after IS and, in some of the animals, at 35 days. In both cases, we observed a decrease in the activity of MAergic mechanisms. It seems that in the first case the changes are caused by decompensation and reflect disruption of compensatory mechanisms that are activated within a day after an IS. In the second case, the decrease in the MA synthesizing capacities of the brain that we found 35 days after IS reflects a secondary post insult complication, which includes a prolonged increase in SR that is maintained 60 days after an insult. Thus, the state of MAergic mechanisms of the brain during the postinsult period may not only limit but also promote the formation of SR
