[1] The rapid decay of the infrared remnant of the luminous red nova 2015 in m101 / V. P. Goranskij, A. M. Tatarnikov, N. I. Shatsky, A. V. Dodin // The Astronomer’s Telegram. — 2016. — no. 8848. — P. 1–1. The object PSN J14021678+5426205 in the galaxy M 101 (ATel #7069, #7070, #7072, #7079, #7082, #7206, #8599) was interpreted as a merger event in a massive binary system (AstrBull, 2016, V.71, 82). Between 2016 March 7.86 and 7.99 UT, we performed a repeated observation with the new 2.5 m telescope of the SAI Caucasus Mountain Observatory and ASTRONIRCAM instrument operating in JHK bands (MKO photometric system). The accumulation time was of 3500 s in the J band, 1230 s in the H band, and 1780 s in the K band. The magnitudes of the object were the following: J=21.0 ±0.2; H=20.2 ±0.3; K=18.2 ±0.2. Since the previous observation on January 22 (ATel #8599), the object has become weaker by 1.9-2.6 mag in these bands. This means that the remnant continues to expand with cooling photosphere, and that its spectral energy distribution shifts to the mid infrared range. Mid-infrared observations are encouraged.
