Аннотация:Precise conductometry is used to determine the degrees of micelle ionization (alpha) in aqueous solutions of sodium dodecyl sulfate and alkyltrimethylammonium bromides (alkyl = dodecyl, tetradecyl, and hexadecyl) at various temperatures. Different procedures of calculation of alpha are analyzed. Two of them are based on the concentration dependences of specific or equivalent conductances. The other procedure uses the dependence of the critical micellization concentration on the total concentration of counterions in the presence of added inorganic electrolyte having an ion common with the surfactant. The influence of temperature, micelle aggregation number, and surfactant nature on the degree of micelle ionization is analyzed.
