Аннотация:The question of the “rational” or appropriate size of the state sector in the national economy has been at the forefront of Russia’s post-Soviet policy and administrative debates over the last three decades. The question is complicated, no doubt, by the characteristic inclination of Russian public reforms towards permutations of radicalisation, dirigisme, and liberalism. In this context, for purposes of national development, the risk of going too far, as it were, in the privatisation of resources or, in the opposite case, their nationalisation, is significant.
