Аннотация:
We studied the alizarin preparation of gill arches from small immature individuals of Sakhalin taimen from the water bodies of the South Kuril Islands Iturup and Kunashir. It was found that the form and size of the rakers in the lower, middle, and upper parts of the arch differed sharply.During early development the number of rakers decreased from 22 to 18--19 as fish length increased. Evidently, the small rakers combine with neighboring scrapers, increasing the area of their surface. The total number of gill rakers in the species Parahucho perryi is not 12-14 (Berg, 1948), but 18-22. Considering the importance of this character, it is appropriate to give the number of normally developed and specialized rakers.
