Аннотация:Generation and propagation of acoustic gravity waves (AGWs) in the two-dimensional Earth atmosphere have been numerically simulated. Such waves are generated by piston-like vertical motions of the Earth's surface similar to the motions during earthquakes, industrial explosions, and nuclear tests. The system of two-dimensional nonlinear equations of hydrodynamics was solved in the simulation. The results clearly show the AGW generation in the atmosphere by pulsed ground-based sources. The obtained numerical results have been compared to the available experimental data of the ionospheric radiosounding.
