Аннотация:Aim of the study. Preparation of antibacterial soap with silver nanoparticles and with mixture of silver and copper nanoparticles. Test of bactericidal and fungicidal activity of the soap.
Materials and methods. The biocidal activity of soap with metallic nanoparticles and known antibacterial agents such as EVOLUT soap, Baby soap, Bonaderm-gel skin antiseptic and PHMG hydrochloride have been compared. Solutions of silver nanoparticles were prepared with chemical reduction by sodium borohydride in the presence of gelatin as stabilizing agent. Solution of silver and copper nanoparticles mixture was prepared with chemical reduction by sodium borohydride in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone as stabilizing agent. The method of photon-correlation spectroscopy was used to show the presence of nanoparticles in solutions. Test strains were obtained from the skin of hands (flush method and fingerprint): Penicillium chrysogenum, Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus fischeri, Stachybotrys chartarum, Trichoderma atroviride, Mucor plumbeus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus warneri, Kocuria rhizophila. To test the biocidal activity of detergents DD-method was used. A 6-point scale was used to quantify the activity.
Results. As a result of a comparative evaluation of the fungicidal and bactericidal activity of different types of antibacterial agents (including modified soap), it was established that they all had an inhibition effect on test cultures which had been previously isolated from the skin of the hands. All agents are most effective against bacteria, yeast and Stachybotrys chartarum. The weakest inhibitors of the growth of bacteria and molds are Baby soap and Bonaderm. For mold fungi, the inhibitory effect was weak or moderate. There was no definitive dependence for the bactericidal or fungicidal activity of soap on the concentration of nanoparticles or the method of producing a modified soap. The study of the mechanism of the influence of silver and copper nanoparticles in the composition of soap on its biological activity will be continued in further studies.
Conclusions. The modified soap that was obtained in this work shows a better effect than the known antibacterial personal care products.
