Аннотация:An analysis is made of the results of two years (Sept. 1974- Sept. 1976) of optical rangefinder measurements of the lengths of ten radial geodetic lines with an average length of 20 km, laid out in the neighborhood of the western and of the Peter I Range within the Garm region of the Tadzhik SSR. The existence of considerable strain rates, reaching values of 2*10(-6) year(-1)
along a number of measured lines is noted. The geodetic measurement results are found to be in satisfactory agreement with the concepts of the seismotectonic deformation of the region
obtained from an analysis of the earthquake focal mechanisms. A diagram of the present-day motions of the crust is proposed and a comparision is carried out between it and the diagram of
the vertical - tectonic motions over the Holocene.
