Аннотация:In the present paper, a new complex method for the high-temperature investigations of the phase and chemical transformations in iron-chromium alloys is presented. With the use of the method, the three-dimensional diagrams of the air-nitrogen solubility in Fe-Cr (0 – 22%) alloys at the temperature 1000C have been calculated, and for the first time the conditions have been determined at which air nitrogen dissolves in iron-chromium alloys and leads to the stabilization of austenite. This interesting phenomenon is of great practical importance since it can be a basis for the development of a clean and resource-saving process of nitrogen-alloying of iron-chromium alloys in the air.
