The claimed invention relates to a method and a system for determining the location of a user indoors for subsequent navigation of the user. The problem addressed by the claimed invention is the production of a method and a system for the highly accurate indoor navigation of a user without the existence of prior information about the building structure and about radio signal emitters disposed therein, allowing for rapid orientation in an unfamiliar space. The technical result is an increase in the accuracy of determining the location of a user indoors. In a preferred variant embodiment of the claimed invention, a method is claimed for determining the location of a user indoors with the aid of an inertial measuring unit (IMU), which is attached to the user's lower limb, and a user's mobile computer, which method consists in obtaining information from the IMU about the user's movement and transmitting said information wirelessly to the user's mobile computer.
