Provided is a method for fixing carbon dioxide by central coordination between carbon dioxide and transition metal zirconium. The carbon dioxide fixing method includes dissolving 2-methyl-1H-benzimidazole in ether at -70°C cold bath under argon atm., dropping hexane soln. of Bu lithium, stirring at -40°C for 2 h, adding 6,6-di-Ph fulvene, stirring at room temp. for 12 h, adjusting pH to 3 with HCl soln., adding the filtrate in the mixed soln. of CH2Cl2 and water, adjusting pH to 8 with 10% NaOH soln., sepg., evapg. org. phase, and performing recrystn. on the product with ether to obtain 2-(η5-cyclopentadienyl)-2,2-Ph ethyl-1H-benzimidazole; dissolving the obtained 2-(η5-cyclopentadienyl)-2,2-Ph ethyl-1H-benzimidazole and tetradiethylamino zirconium in toluene, reacting at 80°C for 7 h under stirring, standing, filtering, removing toluene from the filtrate, purifying the residual oil-like matter with ether, and performing recrystn. on the solid with ether, to obtain 2-(η5-cyclopentadienyl)-2,2-Ph ethyl-1H-benzimidazole-bis(diethylamino)zirconium; and dissolving the obtained 2-(η5-cyclopentadienyl)-2,2-Ph ethyl-1H-benzimidazole-bis(diethylamino)zirconium and tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane in toluene at argon atm., reacting at 10-40°C for 0.5-2 h, introducing carbon dioxide gas, and standing for 2-5 h, to obtain the compd., thereby fixing carbon dioxide. The inventive method has easily available raw materials, mild reaction conditions and simple post-treatment, and can effectively convert carbon dioxide from the exhaust gas into useful sites, and the carbon dioxide conversion rate can reach 96.2%.
