The dissertation is the first study of the bibliophilic publishing heritage of Bulgaria, whose beginning and development are set by the bibliophilic numbered editions discovered for the period 1901–1947. Based on the theory of the book as a medium, the thesis of bibliophilic numbered editions as a specific literary heritage and first-rate publishing cultural heritage of each country has been proved. The terms “bibliophilia”, “bibliophile edition” and “publishing cultural heritage” are defined in a new way. The identifier for the factual and descriptive recognizability of the subject of the research has been proved: the ideal object of bibliophilia is the “numbered edition with autograph”. Based on the results of biblioarchaeological research and bibliographic-publication analyzes of private bibliophile collections, the shortcomings and obstacles in the attempts to establish special funds for bibliophile books in Bulgaria during the last 120 years have been formulated. Through the method of modeling a modular model has been created for the formation, socialization and provision for global access of the future fund “Bibliophile numbered publications in Bulgaria” in the innovative phygital format. The model is built through a system-structural algorithm of three components – a matrix of metadata of the bibliophilic edition, a protocol for collecting empirical bibliographic information and its disclosure in the form of a bibliographic passport.
