Аннотация:Currently, modern psycholinguists are becoming increasingly successful at finding new pragma-semantic tools to interpret political linguistic profiles.
Various research illustrates attitudes towards accepted principles and conventions, as well as variables affecting linguistic speech and behaviour.
This paper’s analysis of presidential debates between George W. Bush and Albert Gore in 2000, as well as presidential debates between George W. Bush and John Kerry in 2004 indicates that simultaneous studying of functional and auxiliary parts of speech sheds further insight on better understanding the cognitive, emotional, and behavioural characteristics of politicians.
A question was raised as to how someone whose intelligence and verbal features were underestimated, managed to win against two capable contenders, irrespective of his poor communication skills and verbal miscues.
In consideration of separate statements from chosen politicians, by means of quantitative analysis, nuances were dissected as far as what politicians think and how they speak.
