In this work we propose generating the frequency-modulated sweep signal, where time intervals corresponding to different spectral intervals are shuffled randomly during sweeping. We start with a frequency-time curve of a conventional linear sweep for example. F-T curve is divided into intervals with a constant interval length. As a result, we end up with a group of frequency value pairs corresponding to the start and the end of any given interval, which we then shuffle in the random order. Created shuffle sweep is subjected to a cosine-based function in order to create smooth boundaries between the sweep intervals and mitigate phase jumps. Field tests were carried out by using a GDS-II vibrator electronics and conventional vibrators. GDS-II vibrator electronics is capable of generating complex sweep signals in real-time and sending them to vibrators for high production rates.
