The presentation addresses the complex relationship between the ICC and the United Nation system in the context of international peace and justice. A special focus will be made on the role of the UN Security Council, either within statutory framework or beyond it. Based on the examples of specific (post) conflict situations (Darfur, Libya and Syria, North Korea, Palestine) the author assesses the efficiency of the current model of the problematic relationship between the UN SC and the ICC. The author also consider the relationship of the Court with other UN organs, including General Assembly and the International Court of Justice.
