The complex study of the optical properties of natural (nonisotopic-enriched) and isotopic-enriched СаМоО4 crystals was carried out.It is shown that the color of the crystals is induced by defects, including F-centers arising in the growth process. Long isothermal high-temperature annealing in air or in oxygen flow leads to the healing of oxygen vacancies and the destruction of F-centers. Residual effects in the form of the scattering centers concentrated in the center of the samples are observed.
