Cl- is more important for the regulation of arterial contractile responses in arteries of young rats. Cl- accumulation in SMC seems to be not different between young and adult vasculature. ClC-3 channels are not responsible for higher contribution of Cl- to arterial contractile responses in young saphenous arteries. The contribution of Ca2+-activated Cl- channels to the regulation of arterial contractile responses is probably higher in arteries of young rats. But this have to be proved using another inhibitor.
