The White and Barents Seas surges numerical simulation results using the hydrodynamic model ADCIRC with the spectral wave model SWAN. In this paper, the terms "surge" and "storm surge" was divided. In this article, a new surge height calculating method was presented. Calculations were made on an unstructured grid with high spatial resolution, covering both the White and the Barents Seas with a minimum step of 50 m in the coastal zone. Input data were used NCEP/CFSR reanalysis from 1979 to 2015 of wind, atmospheric pressure and ice concentration fields and at the open boundary defined tides based FES 2008 database with a 1/8°.resolution. The ADCIRC model was adapted to the White and Barents seas conditions. The synoptic situations which lead to surge occurrence were analyzed. The seasonal and interannual variability surges occurrence estimation was given. The wind, atmospheric pressure and wind waves contribution in the surge formation was assessed.
