In today’s interconnected world, global value chains (GVCs) play a crucial role in international trade, facilitating the integration of economies and the distribution of production activities across borders. China, as the world’s largest exporter and a key player in global trade, stands to benefit from participating in inclusive GVCs that prioritize sustainability and inclusivity. This paper explores the concept of inclusive GVCs and their potential for fostering sustainable global trade in China. It also examines the opportunities and challenges associated with promoting inclusivity and sustainability within China’s participation in global value chains. The paper offers policy recommendations and practical strategies for enhancing the inclusiveness and sustainability of China’s engagement in global trade.
