The nonlinearity of a vectorial function is defined as the Hamming distance to the set of affine mappings with similar parameters. The computational complexity of obtaining the nonlinearity and its boundaries are given. The relationship of the new nonlinearity with the previously studied characteristics of the nonlinearity of a vectorial function is shown. The situation arising when using various isomorphic images of a finite field that is not simple is considered.
