The development of the electric power industry is an important task for accelerating economic growth in Russia. The use of new economic and technical instruments for optimizing the production and consumption of electricity plays an important role in this process. Among such instruments, we note electric energy storage devices. Electricity markets are characterized by large price differences between peak periods with high consumption volumes and night periods with low consumption. In this situation, an energy storage device can play a useful role for the consumer: the consumer accumulates energy in it at low prices and uses it at high prices. Storage devices can also be used to make a profit from reselling energy in this mode. The purpose of this paper is to assess the return on investment in different types of storage devices in different markets.
