The possibility of non-destructive testing of single crystal turbine blades using laser ultrasound technique was investigated. Opto-acoustical transducer with special design was suggested to inspect hard to reach turbine blade root area. Hot cracks detection ability in cooling passage separating wall with only 1.5 mm thick was shown. This ability was confirmed by fluorescent dye penetrant inspection and metallographic analysis.
