This work is aimed at a theoretical assessment of the precip itation thermal radio emission intensity and polarization when observed by microwave radiometers from space. It is proposed to apply the method of successive orders of scattering to simulate the atmospheric microwave radiation of clouds and rain. Numerical simulation of the thermal radio emission transfer in the rain atmosphere at a number of wavelengths is carried out. The e ectiveness of the method and the solutions obtained are compared with the nite di erence method. It is shown that the method of successive orders of scattering has a signi cant advantage for solving the tasks set.
