In the present time processing of rice husk to produce amorphous silica of varying degree of purity and dispersion is an actual task. Resulting SiO2 is used in tire production, construction industry and others areas. Both rice hull ash and SiO2 are the effective additives for smelting metal ore allowing lowering melting temperatures. At the same time heat which is produced during burning of rice husk can be converted into electricity. As established in present work, rice husk ash contains from 20 to 55 wt.% Si and 25-50 wt.% carbon as well as small amounts of Na, K, Ca, Mg, Al, Fe and S. Thus rice husk ash could be considered an alternate source of SiO2.
