The magnetic method which based on the contrast in magnetic properties between a target objects (archaeological remains) and the host medium (surrounding soil) improved itself at a number of archaeological sites in northern regions of Israel. The commonly used building material in northern Israel is basalt. Both archaeological remains and blackish soils developed on basalts are characterized by high heterogenic distribution and relatively high magnetic susceptibility values. Tel ‘En Gev is located at the eastern shore of Lake Galilee, northern Israel. High efficiency of magnetic method was expected and recommended detailed magnetic survey for revealing and tracing unearthed remains.
