The environment seriously affects human health, and is the cause of many diseases. Thus, according to the World Health Organization, three quarters of human diseases are caused by ecologically unfavorable environmental conditions. Environmental pollution particularly affects residents of large cities and industrial centers in many regions of the globe. Their health is in danger. The concept of "health", according to the World Health Organization, reflects a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing. The source and guarantor of human health are nature, society and man himself. Preserving and especially restoring human health are fundamental and comprehensive humane and humanitarian tasks. But in a polluted environment they cannot be solved only in the framework of the health system, based on science. Those days are over, when science could have been considered unequivocally good for man. The ongoing progress in science, engineering and technology raises the question of the value of philosophical and ethical rethinking of the achievements in the field of medicine, which at the first glance may seem progressive. However, many medical experts fear that the new biomedical and genetic engineering technologies pose a threat to human health and attach great importance to traditional medicine.
