Nowadays gametes cryopreservation is one of the most important methods in reproductive medicine used for different purposes: in case of low spermatozoa concentration several portions of semen could be frozen for later use in one IVF cycle or vice versa – one ejaculate could be divided and cryoconservated for use in several IVF cycles, etc. Despite the fact of using special compounds – cryoprotectants – main characteristics of spermatozoa, such as motility and morphology, decreases in wide range from 30 to 70%. One of the most efficient methods of cryoprotectant modification described in literature is an addition of egg yolk [1, 2]. Previously we developed a protocol of effective cryoprotectant modification with egg yolk (5.6 mg/ml). In this study we compared cryoprotectant modified with egg yolk by our protocol with commercially available analogs.
