In current work BaTiO3 was obtained from a mixture of BaO and TiO2 hydrothermally and in water vapor at 230°C and 2,94 MPa and in supercritical water at 400°C and 26,00 MPa. From a comparison of properties of BaTiO3 samples, the use of vapor and supercritical water possessed a number of advantages over the hydrothermal method. The product synthesized in vapor and supercritical conditions had narrower crystal size distribution, smaller crystal size and higher specific surface area than the hydrothermally synthesized.
