An advanced theory of the solar wind interaction with the Earth’s magnetosphere and magnetospheric boundary layers formation requires the consideration of the existence of high level of turbulence in the magnetosheath. Both plasma flows and magnetic field vary significantly in the magnetosheath, and the characteristics of the magnetosheath turbulence are relatively poorly understood. The question of the pressure balance at the magnetopause in areas where there are turbulent magnetic field fluctuations is still unresolved. The present work is the study of magnetic field fluctuations in the magnetosheath and the pressure balance at the magnetopause near the subsolar point of the magnetosphere during magnetic storms according to data of THEMIS mission. The results are compared with the magnetopause crossings in calm geomagnetic conditions.
