Nowadays the number of new polyanion or mixed anion-based cathode materials for metal-ion batteries has considerably grown. However, it has been demonstrated that only few representatives are able to reversibly store both Li+, Na+ and even K+ with good electrochemical performance. Among them are KTiPO4O (KTP) structure type materials which can host all three ions in a continuous system of spacious tunnels and cavities. Such materials exhibiting the reversibility towards multiple intercalating ions may serve as model systems for investigating ion intercalation parameters. Structural and chemical features as well as encouraging electrochemical performance of the recently studied KTP-type KVPO4F make it not only a viable candidate for examining alkali ion transport but also an attractive cathode for actively developing sodium-ion and just emerging potassium-ion ones. In this work, we explored and compared the electrochemical behavior of the KVPO4F material in Li, Na, K-based cells.
