Breakdown, at least in point-plane geometry, is the result of inception and propagation of pre breakdown phenomena called “streamers”. A spectroscopic investigation of the light emitted by streamer during its propagation could lead to its better understanding. In this paper we focus our spectroscopic investigation on fast positive filamentary streamers (average velocity10km/s) obtained at large gap distance under high impulse voltage (up to 100kV) in LN2.
