Phosphoryl podands L0–L5 are known to have a high complexing ability, which allows them to be used as extraction reagents for rare earth elements (REE), components of radiopharmaceuticals, and luminescent materials. Under the same conditions, podands L0–L5 extract REE of the yttrium subgroup much better than those of cerium. To explain the reasons for this phenomenon, we determined the stability constants of L0 complexes with lanthanide nitrates from the beginning, end, and middle of the series (Ce, Tb, Lu). The ion-selective properties of L0 towards REE were tested The structure of complexes of nitrates of the entire series of REE with the podand L0 was synthesized and determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. It was shown that the obtained compounds are metal-organic frameworks (MOFs).
