The traditional problem of maintaining work ability is tightly linked with the necessity to investigate how people choose and apply different means of recreation and stress management. The aim of the empirical study - estimation of stress-management means’ and recreation procedures’ effects on mental states (MS) in office environment. In different research sets 300 respondents participated; аll of them – the employees of small companies in service domain. The results show the different effects of applied stress-management means on MS dynamics as well as work efficiency. The main recreation and coping means are based on social contacts with colleagues and coffee/tea-brakes; еhey are quite traditional and not much effective in managing of appropriate MS level during work day. Effective MS self-regulation could be based on self-regulation techniques, which are helpful for the development of effective psychological means of current state management.
