Aminophosphonates are very interesting candidates for exhibiting a wide range of biological activity as phosphorous analogs of naturally occurring amino acids and can be used as antibiotics, enzyme inhibitors with antiviral agents. The new efficient method of the synthesis of diethyl 2- and 3-piperidyl- and 3-tetrahydroquinolyl phosphonates by hydrogenation of corresponding hetarylphosphonates with molecular hydrogen in the presence of a palladium catalyst has been developed. The method provides a phosphorous analogues of cyclic aminoacids in almost quantitative yields. Hetarylphosphonates have been obtained by improved method using Pd(OAc)2-dppf catalytic system.
