Today, a new social group called the precariat is entering the arena of the class structure of modern society. This name is derived from the word precarium (unreliable), symbolizes the alienation of this group from the results of labor, inherited from its predecessor, the proletariat, but also from a society within which new forms of employment of labor are integrated. Quality of life of the precariat directly depends on the regular exploitation of his knowledge, skills and abilities, without which the members of this social group would not have the means of subsistence. There are several approaches to definition of the precariat in modern Russian society. Based on the results of theoretical research, we will be able to formulate our own distribution of the new and dangerous class, reflecting its specific in contemporary Russian socio-class structure.
