We analysed H-alpha spectra and filtergrams observed with the Ondrejov multichannel flare spectrograph in flare kernels both on the solar disk and limb with a high temporal resolution. We measured values of FWHM (full width at the half-maximum) in the emission line profiles and studied their time series together with X-ray and radio flux in observationally distinct type of flares. We found the behavior of FWHM of the H-alpha line profile as an auxiliary but still important parameter for a better understanding of energy release and transport processes in solar flares. Probable agents and scenarios of the energy transport as well as possible diagnostic aspects of the results are briefly discussed.
