Recently, research of cathode materials for Li-ion batteries becomes one of the largest directions of scientific work in all over the world. One of the most investigated materials in this field is vanadium oxide with different morphology including aerogels. The aim of the present work is the creation of composites “whiskers-aerogel” on the base of vanadium oxides with high electronic conductivity as cathode materials for Li-ion batteries. Originality of the work is using of the Ba0.25V2O5•nH2O novel phase whiskers which “work” together with aerogel as cathode material. In addition, the samples were obtained firstly as composites in which matrix and reinforcing additive are on the base of vanadium oxides. Electrochemical properties investigation of the whiskers showed high and constant discharge capacity (~145 mAh/g). Moreover, electronic conductivity was very high (~9•10-3 S/cm). The aerogels obtained have specific surface square up to 50 m2/g (BET). The materials had very high discharge capacity (~300 mAh/g) but electronic conductivity was not so high (~5•10-5 S/cm). This fact predetermined necessity of addition of high conductive whiskers. Obtained composites “whiskers/aerogel” had similar morphology with aerogels. After oxidizing annealing of the composite the discharge capacity at 1 cycle was equal to ~130 mAh/g which slightly went down to constant value ~80 mAh/g.
