Transport of miscible or immiscible fluids in a compound vortex created by a uniformly rotating disk located on the bottom of a cylindrical tank is investigated. Experiments showed that a compact spot soluble and insoluble impurities on the surface of the cavity of the composite vortex is transformed into the spiral arms. The main flow and the growth of the spiral arms in opposite directions. The size and rate of evolution of spiral structures depend on all experimental parameters (radius and speed of the disk, the depth of the liquid amount of impurity). In all the experiments, the impurity can not be considered a passive, pushing the separated color bands, the provisions of the oil droplets and orientation of the spiral arms do not reflect all of the features of the flow pattern in the composite carrier fluid vortex. The observed flow patterns can be consistently reproduced within the experimental accuracy.
