The paper provides the analytical overview of how Russian journalism education system respond to the challenges of media industry. It presents results of the study on different concerns in understandings and curricula developments in a wide range of high schools and educational structures – from universities to academic chairs. Geography of the study covers institutions engaged in journalism education all over the country – from the enclave Kaliningrad in its western part to the Siberia and the Far East region. The study focuses on the expansion of cross-platform journalism study programs with the emphasis on special professional competences and tech savvy skills.
