A study of the coordination properties involving the chiral diamidophosphite L [1] in d6 and d8 metal complexes is reported. The binuclear Ru(II) complex 1 was prepared in situ from [Ru(p-cymene)Cl2]2 and the P,N-bidentate ligand L. The complex cis-[PdCl2L2] (2) with free nitrogen donor centers was synthesized and its structure was determined by X-ray analysis (Figure 1). Treatment of 2 with [Ru(p-cymene)Cl2]2 gave the trinuclear heterobimetallic complex 3, which was fully characterized. The structure of obtained compounds is discussed based on 1H, 13C, 13C DEPT, 31P, 1H-13C HSQC, 1H-13C HMBC, 1H-1H COSY, 1H-1H ROESY, DOSY NMR spectroscopy, as well as X-ray powder diffraction and DFT calculations.
